GettingHired, Inc. hosted its inaugural virtual career fair on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. The virtual career fair directly connected talented job seekers with disabilities with organizations seeking to diversify their workforce.
Over 1,000 job seekers signed up for the event, which provided an opportunity to connect with 18 of GettingHired’s employer partners. Participating companies included Fortune 500 organizations from a variety of industries, including professional services, consumer packaged goods, financial services and hospitals.
GettingHired’s virtual career fair provides an accessible means for individuals and veterans with disabilities, to submit their resumes and chat directly with recruiters about relevant job opportunities. Participation for employers is limited to GettingHired’s employer partners and provides a cost effective, chat-based forum for recruiters to connect with qualified candidates.
“Virtual career fairs are an exciting new way for employers to connect with qualified candidates. Technology makes the forum accessible to a variety of job seekers. GettingHired’s employer partners have access to an exclusive venue to connect them with talented individuals with disabilities,” said Michael McSally, President of GettingHired.
GettingHired will be hosting another virtual career fair on October 1, 2014, the start of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM).
