HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Association Services, Inc. (ASI), an Associa company, is proud to announce its new Director of OnCall Maintenance Services Ken Barrett. Barrett began full time at Association Services, Inc. in April 2014 as a licensed mechanical contractor after working on a part-time basis for the past three years.

“Ken has more than proved his capabilities in the three years he’s worked with us at ASI,” says President and Chief Executive Officer Wendy Murray. “He’s a safety and maintenance expert with extensive experience and he’s a long-time Hilton Head Island local, so he knows the people here, which is invaluable.”

Barrett began working for the Sea Pine Forest Beach maintenance department in 1974 and five years later joined the Hilton Head Island Fire & Rescue team as a volunteer. He was hired full time in 1979 and attained the rank of captain before his retirement this year. Barrett was a national certified fire & explosives investigator, an international certified hazardous materials technician, a state fire marshal and a state emergency medical tech.

In addition to working with the fire department he also worked part time for EMR Electrical Services as an electrician for over twenty years and is Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) certified.
